So far, So … Interesting.

Almost a month in now on YouTube, and things for the most part are going as expected. Except the rant about the ps4 controller. Over 1.2k in a week. Thanks everyone. Seriously. A bored old DJ’s character getting some interest and becoming my most watched video so far. I did not expect it.

Nor did I expect feedback so soon either. But comments on the videos aside, people who have reached out that I haven’t spoken to in years. Humbling. It means a lot that my misfortune and stupidity, and the eventual improvements and mindset - have reached some people already.

All the getting used to doing this all the time again aside, I can feel the bug starting. Now that I have committed to getting this done in a reasonable amount of time, I can feel the pull of the enjoyments ahead. And ALL of the frustrations.

Next up, and yes I will attempt to film it. I have been dared to do some stand up. The last time I did anything like that - Obama was still in his freshman term. And the memory of the worst bombing I ever had, still is in my head almost 15 years later. And no - sorry. That’s one for a video …

But what I am finding interesting is all the tools, some do not make sense how much you read about it. Until they go to work for you. Algorithms for example. Stats and Ratings as well. NONE of this was around back in the day, unless it was in the software I was using itself. And if I was touching someone else’s stream. ( Meaning the station was not picking up my Server to broadcast. I was directly streaming to the station itself. Hard Rock Radio Live was always one for example. )

I have always had to rely on email reports and verified emails. So my ratings always were based on “Reliable” information. Don’t get me wrong, I could log in to most stations “boards” as part of our syndication deal. I could get live info and screenshot it if I had to. But early on Pre Management. I did not ask for that.

Live and Learn I guess, right?

But now as I slowly grow to everyone’s first YouTube landmark. 1000 Subs.

At the same time I am muddling my way through learning how to use Rumble and Locals. Locals I plan to do one of the Live Shows from. Most likely the actual live talk show where I can interact with the audience and guests. This way, if need be, I can take out anything “sensitive”. And share accordingly.

I know I must sound like I have more than a conversational level of understanding of most of it. NOPE.

But if I want to do the talk show, I have to start somewhere. And it is not my old internet. So much more to learn and I admit my weaknesses early on. I need an editor, I’ll probably need a writer or 2 in time. And a web person. And a second artist who can do artwork for video covers and show promo. The evil money is now a part of this again.

No not asking at this point yet either, until I feel it’s worth a members area or subscription/donation service I will do it myself. For no other reason so I can learn what NOT to do. I already am well into learning that one too. But also because the quality for me, isn’t there yet. Nor is the host as camera friendly as I’d like.

In my dwindling free time, improv and acting classes I think are in the works now, at least to plan to do.

I’m going to play the ratings game, for better or worse. But the one difference is, I am looking to do MORE. Not get rich, if both happens however I can do a lot. I don’t care how many people view the stuff I am making. I do want them to, but the number counts mean nothing to me. Like hate mail, if I didn’t get it out the gate - I guess I got to do better next time.

Only as good as your last release.
